Here at Morning Light Kombucha, giving back is deeply rooted in who I am and how I live my life. So when I decided to start my business, I wanted to ensure that giving back was part of my business model as well.
As a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, issues involving Native American people are very near and dear to my heart. Native people continue to struggle and have their rights disregarded and stripped on a daily basis. It is important that I bring awareness to these issues and support the efforts to stand up and fight in any way that I can. Along with supporting large scale movements occurring in Indian Country, I also want to do what I can to support our youth. Native youth are our future, they are strong and will continue to carry on the fights long after we are gone. I feel it’s important to support and empower them in an way that I can. This is why 5% of all profits go to Native American charities, legal funds, youth endeavors, tribes, etc.
Below are organizations we have donated to:
Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline
Native American Right Fund to help in the legal fight against the dismantling of Bears Ears National Monument
